Matt Roberts Arts: Open Forum

As part of a national series of events, Matt Roberts Arts is offering 8 one-to-one sessions with Paul Stone, Creative Director of Vane Gallery on developing a commercial practice, and 8 one-to-one sessions with Matt Roberts, on funding your practice.  Sessions are free and last 45 minutes.

Paul Stone trained as an artist and has a BA (Hons) and MA in Fine Art from Newcastle’s Northumbria University. He has exhibited in more than forty exhibitions in the UK and abroad since 1990. He has co-steered Vane in Newcastle from its foundation in 1997, as an artist-led group presenting a variety of different projects, usually in temporary venues, to its current format as a company with a permanent gallery base presenting a year-round exhibition programme of international contemporary art.

Matt Roberts is a curator and art consultant with over 10 year’s experience of artist’s professional development support and exhibition management. He has worked in India, Israel, Denmark, Norway and Sweden, as well as lecturing at various universities and institutions across the UK. Having founded both the Matt Roberts Arts project space and the Salon Art Prize, he has mentored or offered one-to-one support to over 500 artists, and contributes critical writing to a-n, Axis, and Guardian Cultural professionals on a regular basis.
