Thu 24 Mar 2016 – Thu 14 Apr 2016 Bloc Projects (open Weds – Sat / 12pm – 6pm)

Opening event: Thursday 24 March, 6-7.30 pm

One of te final projects from their 2015-16 open call series, Bloc Projects presents a new billboard by Cambridge-based Helen Stratford and Nottingham-based Craig Fisher, which forms part of their recenty developed colaborative practice. Their Work Standardised Versions (Rubble) uses humour to subvert the language of architectural conventions, typologies, plans and written specifications and provide a set of instructions to reconstruct that which has the appearance of having been deconstructed.

On 24 March 2016 the artists will stage a live event in the gallery.

Craig Fisher and Helen Stratford started making work together as part of The Expanded Studio Project, an artist-led initiative from studio holders at Primary, Nottingham and Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge. Recent work made together includes Standardised Versions (Rubble) presented at Variety Show I, Primary Studios Nottingham and Variety Show XIII, Aid & Abet Cambridge; Randomized Barriers – collaborative drawing measuring 3m high x 13.4m wide – shortlisted for Freitag ‘Design A Truck’ competition 2015; Drawing Collaborations, exhibition and conference Coventry University December 2015.
