102 Years Out of Sync
Fri 29 November
Mikhail Karikis presents a new audio-visual performance, combining film footage and field recordings captured during the filming of his new work Children of Unquiet, and fragments of 1911 silent film L’Inferno.
Inspired by the same geothermal region in Tuscany, L’Inferno was Italy’s first feature film, depicting Dante’s hell in a striking visual feast.
Interweaving fragments both old and new, this work mines the strata of legend, industrial archaeology, subterranean resonance and the aural imaginary of hell.
The performance is free. Reservations are recommended.
